Bob Carlton and the AvJournal Jet Powered Sailplane

On February 4th, 2007 this jet sailplane flown by Bob Carlton was out practicing at Estrella Sailport for the upcoming airshow season. The sailplane is called a Silent J and is powered by two small Jet-A burning jet engines that are started with propane. Bob has a throttle for each engine strapped to his leg and can self launch the sailplane under it's own power. He flies for about 10 minutes or so doing some really cool acro manuvers and low level flight. Very cool! Out of the Hangar Jet Sailplane @ E68 Very Unique! What The Hell?
